VETS OPERATE ONCE A MONTH

Cray Wanderers may have lost their Reserves team for this season but, the Veterans' team marches on. The team has been in existence, in one form or another, for several seasons but, apart from a brief mention on this website about five years ago, it has largely crept by unnoticed under the radar.

Very recently, the Vets trounced Seven Acre & Sidcup Vets 8-0 at Oxford Road, with goals from Ian Jenkins (3), Danny Evans, Sam Wright, Andy Silk and Adam Heaslewood (2). Seven Acre & Sidcup is the club that took over playing at Oxford Road in place of Cray Wanderers Reserves this season, even though the ground remains the official headquarters of our Club.

Playing once a month, whenever they can arrange games, the Vets' team is managed by Club chairman, Gary Hillman, with the attack being spearheaded by the Club's first team manager, Ian Jenkins.

Currently, the team is looking for more opponents to play, so if any supporters know of teams that would fit the bill, please let Jenko or a Wands committee member know at any Cray home game.

We hope to include occasional updates on the Vets' Team on this website and in future matchday programmes.
