PLAYER PROFILES 2009-10 SEASON
BELLAMY, Liam (Midfield). 18-year old who is currently on work experience terms from Charlton Athletic. Previously played for Merstham. BLADE, Paul (Director of Football). Paul has been with the Wands for two seasons. He was previously manager of Thamesmead Town. BOATENG, Desmond (Midfield). Age 29. Capped by the England National Game XI during his original spell with Carshalton Athletic in 2002. His previous clubs include Egham Town, Crawley Town, Yeading, Woking, Walton & Hersham, St Leonards, Bromley, Welling, Tooting & Mitcham, Hornchurch, Merstham and Kingstonian. BREMNER, Leigh (Forward). Joined Cray from Herne Bay in 2005, although currently in his second spell at Hayes Lane after briefly leaving to play for Folkestone Invicta and Carshalton Athletic. BRENNAN, Pat (Goalkeeper). Age 18. Young goalkeeper who has advanced through the youth and reserve ranks. Made his debut in the 2008-09 season and is certainly one for the future. CASSIUS, Marcus (Striker). Currently on loan from landlords Bromley. Finished leading goalscorer in the Kent League last season whilst playing for Erith Town. DAY, Aaron (Defender). Age 27. Signed from Tooting & Mitcham last season. Former youth player at Charlton Athletic who has also played for Banstead Athletic. FRANCIS, Joe (Assistant Manager). Joe joined the Wands as a player in 2001/02, later taking the role of coach. After youth experience with Charlton Athletic he played in the Conference and the Ryman League for Bromley, Enfield, Hayes, Kingstonian and Welling United. GUEST, John (Defender). Signed earlier this season from Dartford. Previous clubs include Folkestone Invicta and Ashford Town. JENKINS, Ian (Manager). Ian joined Cray in 1993 and was appointed player-manager in 1998. His career record of 450-plus games and 78 goals includes a club record feat of being a Cray goalscorer for fifteen consecutive seasons. KESSELL, Tony (Goalkeeper). Now in his second spell with the Wanderers. Previously played for the Club in the Kent League. Signed from Dartford. Has also played for Folkestone Invicta and Thamesmead Town. LOVER, Ross (Midfield). Age 23. A product of the Cray reserve team who established himself in the first team in 2003-04. Rejoins Cray in time for their first-ever season in the Ryman Premier League. Skilful ball-carrying player who finds space and is effective wide on the right or in central midfield. LUCKETT, Colin (Defender). Age 32. Experienced ex-Conference defender signed from Bromley in June 2006. A Millwall youth player, made his name in the very successful Kingstonian team where he played in the FA Trophy winning finals of 1999 and 2000. MONCUR, TJ (Defender). Age 22. Has joined from Football League side Chesterfield Town, having previously played for Wycombe Wanderers and Bradford City. Started his career playing in theArsenal and Fulham youth teams. Represented England at U16, U17 and U18. PORTER, George (Attacking Midfield). A young midfielder/forward who has come through the newly formed Academy side and has become a crowd favourite. QUINN, Robert (Defender). Age 32. Republic of Ireland born Rob has the honour of representing his country at under 21 and B level. Made 268 league appearances with Crystal Palace, Brentford, Oxford United and Bristol Rovers before moving into Non-League with Stevenage Borough, Gravesend & Northfleet, AFC Wimbledon and Welling United for whom he left to join the Wands in the 2009 close-season. STANDEN, Dean (Midfield). Age 26. Signed from Carshalton in January 2009. Has also played for Luton Town, Welling United, St Albans City, Margate and Brentwood Town. TYNE, Tommy (Forward). Age 28. Tommy signed for the Wands in June 2009 from Kent neighbours Tonbridge Angels. Having previously been with Millwall and Fisher Athletic, Tommy also had two spells at Dover Athletic, originally playing during their Conference period and then returning in 2003/04. WILLY, Mark (Defender). Age 27. Mark returned to the Wands after three years at Bromley where he was club captain. Former Wimbledon youth player, joined Cray in 2001 and played in the Kent League championship winning side of 2002/03. WOOD, Jamie (Forward). Made his Wands debut in 1996. Has scored over 100 goals in 400+ appearances. WOOD, Lewis (Forward). Brother of Jamie. Made his mark scoring freely for Cray's reserves as a youth player before graduating to the first team. Now in his third spell at the Club, having rejoined from Thamesmead Town.
