CRAY WANDERERS PLAYERS & MANAGEMENT TEAM 2011-12 SEASON

ANDY WALKER, goalkeeper, is a new signing from Maidstone United this season. Andy is an experienced and much-respected ‘keeper whose former clubs include Billericay Town and Bromley.
JOE VINES, defender. Joe started his career at Cray eleven years ago and has rejoined the club having most recently played for Tooting & Mitcham, Lewes and Maidstone United.
ALEX BENTLEY, defender. Cray supporters voted young Alex as 2010-11 ‘Player of the Year’ after his excellent debut season at left-back. Alex joined Cray from the Dagenham & Redbridge first team squad.
TONY DOLBY, defender. After starring as a first team player at Millwall, Tony has had a long career in Non-League football. He was player-manager at Hastings United before returning for a second spell in Cray’s playing squad last season.
MARK WILLY, club captain and centre half, came to the Wands eleven years ago from the Wimbledon FC youth team. Mark had a three-year interlude at Bromley, where he was also team captain, before returning to Cray in 2008.
DANNY YOUNG, defender. Ex-Margate central defender who has moved to Cray this season.
TYRONE STERLING, a left-sided player who can play in defence or further upfield. Now in his sixth season with Cray after signing from Thamesmead Town.
JACK CLARK, midfield. Jack returned to the Wands from Braintree Athletic last season after having played for Cray in 2009-10 on loan from Charlton Athletic. A free-kick specialist who is skilful with the ball.
AARON DAY, midfield. Hard-working ex-Bromley and Tooting & Mitcham defender and midfielder who has played nearly 200 games for Cray since joining in 2008.
CHRIS SAUNDERS, midfield. Signed from Maidstone United at the start of last season and established his place in the side as a ball-winning midfielder who can get into the box and score goals.
LEIGH BREMNER, forward. Leigh’s non-stop work-rate and hunger for goals has made him a popular player during various spells at Cray after first signing from Herne Bay in 2004. Cray supporters voted Leigh their ‘Player of the Year’ in 2009-10.
LEWIS PERKINS, forward. Until recently played for Charlton Athletic, with loan deal appearances for Cray over the past couple of seasons. Has now permanently signed for the Wanderers.
DANNY PHILLIPS, forward. Danny signed for Cray from Sutton United last season. He is a skilful attacking forward who takes on defenders and creates goalscoring opportunities.
MICHAEL POWER, forward. Signed originally from Thamesmead Town in 2003, Michael is now in his fourth term with the Wands, having re-signed for the Club this season.
TOMMY WHITNELL, forward. Tommy has rejoined Cray this season after starting out with the Wands as a promising young forward in 2009. After that he was a prolific goalscorer at Welling United before moving on to Maidstone United.
SAM LONG, forward. A new signing for Cray this season, Sam is a speedy winger who was most recently with Dover Athletic after earlier spells at Tonbridge Angels and Croydon Athletic.
GARY HILLMAN (Chairman). Gary came to Cray Wanderers in 1994 and has presided over a period of great advancement for the club, winning the Kent League championship twice and then achieving two promotions, into the Ryman Division One and then into the Ryman Premier.
IAN JENKINS (Manager). Ian joined Cray as a player in 1993 and was appointed player-manager in 1999. He played nearly 500 games for the Wands, and last year he celebrated his tenth year in charge of the team.
JOE FRANCIS (Assistant Manager). A skilful forward who played in the Conference and Ryman Premier for Bromley, Hayes and Welling United, Joe will mark his tenth year at Cray in the 2011-12 season. Joe is Head of Education and Welfare at Charlton Athletic FC.
PAUL BLADE is Director of Football, GARY ABBOTT is First Team Coach and TERRY GROOM helps with coaching and fitness. MARK HANSCOMBE, who brought success to Cray's reserve team, has returned to the Wanderers after a spell with Stansfeld and has stepped into the new role of Chief Scout this season.
